The question

I have always hated my middle name, which is a shame. Originally it was supposed to be Rae which I would have been totally happy with because Michaela Rae is a super fucking cute name, but alas, when it got recorded on the birth certificate it ended up being Frances. It’s an homage to a useless man, but my mom still gave it to me. I hate it. I think it is the worst name in the whole world. I am considering just changing my middle name to Manning when I change my last name to Dehghanpoor after the wedding, and thus I will be Manning Dehghanpoor without hyphenating or anything, but I’m not sure. It is still my name, even though I hate it. Also I know to just take my married name all I have to do is pay the fee for a new social security card (like $10?) and show them my marriage license. I understand it’s a little more tedious (and expensive) to change a given name. Ehhhhh.
